I first went to the annual craft fair that is held on the second Saturday in October for several years. Then I decided to attend a worship service. I had visited several “mega” churches but felt lost in the crowds. St. Timothy felt like home. You can feel God’s presence when you walk in the doors. The church family has a heart for ministering to those in need. The funds raised from the annual craft fair support many local, state, national and international missions ministry’s including NEED, When We Love, The Presbyterian Night Shelter and the Cumberland Presbyterian Children’s’ Home just to name a few.
St. Timothy is home. As charter members our wedding was the first service held at St. Timothy. Our two children received infant baptism, joined the church and were married here and our three grandchildren received infant baptism here as well. As well as the spiritual guidance we receive by attending St. Timothy we benefit from belonging to this great Family of God. We celebrate and mourn together. If we need help a St. Timothy family member is just a telephone call away.We are never alone. If you are searching for a church home please come and join us.
When I moved to this area, seven years ago ,I had come from a Presbyterian church where I had been a member for 64 years. I immediately began searching for a church that was similar and traditional, like the one I had left. It was much more difficult than I had ever imagined! After searching online, I began visiting churches every Sunday morning. And even though I was told that it might be difficult, how true it was! The seventh church that I visited was St. Timothy. It just happened to be the churches’ newly hired minister, Chuck Brown’s first Sunday. After he finished his sermon he said, "I walked up the steps and into pulpit, looked out into the sanctuary, and I knew that I was home!”And I immediately said to myself,”Me too, Chuck. Thank you God !! After all my searching, I was finally home. And I’ve never been sorry.
I had been searching for the perfect church home for years…one that reminded me of the church’s I grew up in. Traditional service with a hometown feel. Little did I know my boss had been attending St. Timothy for 20 years! I had never asked him about his church until early 2016 and I discovered it was right down the road from my house. I attended one Sunday in January and got that warm feeling I had been searching for. Everyone treated me so kind and I was welcomed with open arms. I became a member in May 2016. I look forward to every Sunday worship with mynew church family.
We are blessed with a loving church family, where in all occasions the members share the joys and comfort the sorrows. Our children grew up in this church and enjoyed all kinds of programs and activities. Our church also has been very active in helping those in need and serving our community. We love our church and feel it is a sweet home to us. May we spread the love of Jesus through St. Timothy programs to wherever we go.
